THE SEASON OF GATHERING – A Publisher’s Note

There’s something special about this time of year at the Jersey Shore. The summer crowds fade, the air turns crisp, and the trees put on their spectacular show of red, orange, and gold.  Suddenly, we find ourselves reaching for a sweater, gathering around the table a little longer, and appreciating the simple moments we sometimes rush through during the rest of the year.

As we head into the holiday season, I find myself thinking more and more about being present. Life moves so quickly. We’re always planning the next event, the next celebration, the next issue—or simply thinking about tomorrow. But some of life’s most meaningful moments are the ones happening right in front of us.

A family dinner. A great bottle of wine shared with friends. The smell of something wonderful cooking in the kitchen. A drive to admire the fall foliage. Holiday music playing while everyone gathers around a crowded table. These are the moments that become our memories.

As Thanksgiving and the holiday season approach, I’m especially grateful for my family, friendships, and the wonderful community that continues to support Dining Out Jersey Shore. I’m thankful for our restaurant partners, chefs, writers, sales team, photographers, designers, readers, and everyone who shares our love of great food and the people behind it.

Restaurants are about so much more than what’s on the plate. They’re where we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, reconnect with old friends, toast accomplishments, enjoy holiday traditions, and gather with the people who matter most.

As you enjoy our Fall/Holiday Issue, I hope it inspires you to explore somewhere new, revisit an old favorite, celebrate the season, and gather around the table whenever you can.

Most importantly, enjoy the moment you’re in.

From the colorful days of fall through the magic of the holidays, I wish you and your families a season filled with love, laughter, wonderful food, and so much to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and cheers to a beautiful season ahead!
