PUBLISHER'S NOTE - Summer 2023

BY PAUL TURPANJIAN

Much has happened since our last issue. I am excited to announce the launch of Dining Out Jersey Shore Magazine which will cover the dining scene in Monmouth and Ocean Counties and beyond. We have long covered the Jersey shore and its restaurants and thought it fitting to give these seaside towns and their inland neighborhoods their very own edition. Who better to helm this project than our own Editor turned Editor/Publisher Tara Jean McDonald, who once resided in Red Bank and now Freehold. I am proud of Tara Jean. She is passionate about keeping Jersey Shore “Foodies” and their visitors informed. And who better grace the cover of the inaugural issue of Dining Out Jersey Shore, than Jersey Shore native, restaurateur, and good friend of Dining Out Jersey, Celebrity Chef David Burke. Filling Tara’s role in North Jersey is our new Editor/Writer, Dawn Martucci, who has done a great job, and we are all so happy to have her join our team.

Other happenings are the 3rd Annual Dining Out Jersey Foodie Expo being held at The Terrace at Biagio’s on July 10th. This yearly extravaganza brings the best restaurants, spirits, wines, craft beer, desserts, and more along with entertainment, this year including special guest “Produce Pete” Napolitano from NBC4-NY Today Show. Some other fun food-centric activities are in the pipeline, including Dining Out Culinary Tours whose first trip will take guests to Tuscany for some food, culture, history, and fun. Also returning are the Dining Out Dinner and a Show Broadway Theater packages which combine hit Broadway shows with choice restaurants, and luxury transportation, all enjoyed conveniently and safely.

In this issue we highlight El Asadero. This authentic Mexican restaurant has a new home in Fort Lee bringing them to 3 locations with another scheduled in Secaucus. Read more on page 30. There are a lot of articles which I think you’ll find fun and interesting. This fall we will have reviews of some of the “Best, Good, and Not-So-Good” restaurants and eateries in our area as rated by our secret critics. We will also include some commentary on wines which will be an ongoing feature. And remember you can also read Dining Out Jersey and Dining Out Jersey Shore online at diningoutjersey.com/magazines. Until next time, keep “Dining Out” and please share your experiences with us by emailing us at editor@diningoutmedia.com or DM on our Instagram @diningoutnj.

Have a delicious summer!

Cheers,
Paul Turpanjian, Publisher
