The Caviar Queen of New Jersey
Masha Moro, “The Caviar Queen,” is the founder and owner of the eponymous Masha Moro Caviar, one of the only women-owned and operated caviar companies in the U.S.
Masha was born and raised in Moscow, where caviar was a dietary staple. Masha and her family moved to Washington, D.C., when she was 14 years old, and she eventually earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Penn State and later received an Executive MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business. She then embarked on a 17-year career on Wall Street. In 2016, Masha married a Jersey Shore local, and together they relocated from Tribeca, NY, to Monmouth Beach, NJ, to raise their young family of two boys.
A Zest for Life
Masha has always had a zest for life, which, along with her love and passion for caviar, gave her a natural vision of the next chapter of her life, which was to run her own business. In April 2020, she founded Masha Moro Caviar, an online business that delivers an exceptional range of curated, premium caviar across the country overnight. “I opened my business pretty much in the midst of the pandemic. While I was hesitant, it was actually fortunate timing because, with so much sadness and grief, I realized that people were looking to embrace every moment with their loved ones while being locked down. Shopping safely online for luxurious caviar, which arrived on their doorstep the next day, gave people a reason to spend quality time with their family and friends. Caviar helped make staying at home a bit more tolerable by providing joy, and Masha Moro Caviar has grown exponentially ever since.”

Masha Moro Caviar has moved from strength to strength since then. “We now have retail and wholesale clients, including several leading restaurants across the U.S. On the retail side, in addition to one-off sales, our bestsellers include our champagne and caviar gift boxes, which we can always custom make, as well as our brand new caviar ‘bump’ packages.” In addition to online sales, Masha Moro Caviar also has a robust private tasting business in-person in the Monmouth County, NJ, area, and virtual across the U.S. “I particularly enjoy the educational aspect of private tastings because it allows me to share my knowledge and passion directly with my customers,” said Masha. “When I moved to the U.S. almost 30 years ago, I was surprised to find that caviar was so widely misunderstood, and I became determined to help my clients demystify caviar and make it much more accessible, while also giving them a very unique caviar-tasting experience.”
